Nominations for the 2009 Christine M. Durham Woman Lawyer of the Year Award

WLU seeks nominations for the 2009 Christine M. Durham Woman Lawyer of the Year. This award recognizes an outstanding woman lawyer who exemplifies professionalism, excellence and a dedication to furthering opportunities for women in the law. The 2009 award will be presented by Chief Justice Durham at WLU’s annual Fireside event in the spring.
Nominations are due Friday, February 6, 2009.
Eligibility of Nominees: Any woman who is a member of the Utah State Bar and is actively involved in law-related activities is eligible. Nominees may be involved in any area of law and may be practicing attorneys or inactive. It is recommended that nominees graduated from law school at least fifteen years ago.
The recipient of the award shall have:
1. Demonstrated professional excellence and integrity over the course of her career.
2. Displayed an awareness of the needs and concerns of women through her work and activities.
3. Helped to advance the position of women generally or in the legal profession.
Procedure:
Nominations should be made in writing, naming the person, describing her qualifications and stating generally why she should be considered for the award. Please include all relevant information about the nominee such as a CV, news articles, etc. Do not presume any familiarity with the nominee.
