The Civil Jury Project, Utah State Bar, Utah State Bar Young Lawyers Division, and Utah Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates are co-sponsoring a Jury Improvement Lunch in Salt Lake City from Noon-1:30PM on Thursday April 4. It will take place at the Utah Federal Courthouse, 351 South West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 in the jury assembly room. The lunch will be the 31st such lunch held around the country. Previous lunches have each been attended by a dozen judges and over 80 trial lawyers. The purpose of the lunch is to honor those who have recently served as civil jurors and to learn from them about what can be done to improve civil trials.
We are asking practicing lawyers to pay $12 for their own lunches. Host law firms will share the costs of the lunches for the judges and jurors. The lunch will be hosted by the following law firms: Fabian VanCott, Snow Christensen & Martineau, Ray Quinney & Nebeker P.C., Parsons Behle & Latimer, Stoel Rives LLP, and TraskBritt, P.C. Others may join as sponsors or hosts. Lawyers who attend will receive 1 hour of Continuing Legal Education credit. Anyone interested in improving their trial skills will not want to miss this lunch. Because we assign tables (to make sure the lawyers from the same firms, the judges and the jurors are divided) and have limited space, we ask that you make a reservation in advance if you want to attend. You can do so by using this link: https://civiljuryproject.law.nyu.edu/jury-improvement-lunch-registration/.
