Family Law Attorney - Parsons Behle & Latimer

Family Law Attorney in our Salt Lake City, Utah office Parsons Behle & Latimer has an opening in our Salt Lake office for an attorney to join its family law department. Candidates should have 3+ years of general litigation and/ or family law experience and a strong desire to work in the family law area.

The family law department at Parsons continues to grow and expand and currently has some of the most experienced and qualified family law lawyers in the State of Utah. Requirements and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in researching case law, statutes, and regulations related to family law, and drafting legal documents (motions, petitions, modifications, etc.)

• Negotiation skills: family law often involves negotiating settlements, especially in divorce cases, child custody agreements, and property division

• Experience in litigation and presenting cases

• Mediation skills: many family law cases are resolved through mediation, skills in alternative dispute resolution are useful

• Organization: ability to manage a heavy caseload that may include divorce, custody, alimony, child support, adoption, and other family law matters

• The ability to work compassionately with clients going through emotionally difficult situations, like divorce or child custody disputes

• Attention to Detail: family law cases involve complex paperwork, so accuracy and attention to detail are crucial

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

• Admitted to practice in Utah or the ability to be admitted by motion

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Good judgment, responsiveness, and perseverance

• Strong academic credentials
