Job Description:

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is seeking a Junior to Senior Level Patent Associate or Senior Counsel. This position can be based out of any of our offices. The Patent Associate must have a minimum of 3 years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house. 

Ability to draft patent applications and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) are required.  Substantial optics/photonics and solid state image sensing experience is a plus.  Graduate-level experience or advance technical degree is also a plus, as is involvement with patent analysis/opinions of counsel and IPRs.  Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. 

Job Requirements:

• Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics

• Admission to the USPTO

• Strong academic credentials

• At least 3 years of in-house or law firm patent prosecution experience

• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.

• Initiative and a can-do attitude, especially when working as part of a team.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
