Utah Attorney General's Office - Assistant Attorney General - Highways & Utilities
The Utah Attorney General's Office, Highways & Utilities Division, is seeking an attorney to represent the Department of Transportation (UDOT) in eminent domain actions and other legal matters handled by the Division. This is a full-time, career service position with benefits.
This position is a senior level position which requires a minimum of eight years of experience. Depending on experience, it may be underfilled to a level III position which requires five years of experience. Preference will be given to applicants with civil jury trial experience.
Applicants must have the ability to analyze complex legal problems, apply legal principles, prepare and present legal documents in a clear and concise manner, and present arguments clearly, persuasively and logically. This position requires excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Applicants must have the experience and ability to immediately take over an existing caseload. Travel is required as incumbents will need to represent the UDOT in legal proceedings throughout the State. Membership in the Utah State Bar in good standing is required.
