Attorney – Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining The Utah Office of the Attorney General, Natural Resources Division, has an immediate opening for an attorney to represent the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining. This position involves advising the Division on a variety of legal matters related to the Division's mission, including its interactions with the Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining; pursuing enforcement actions against operators who violate oil, gas, and mining laws, and performing other legal tasks.   Applicants should have excellent written and oral advocacy skills, the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, and the capacity to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively with clients. Preference will be given to applicants who have background and experience in natural resource law, particularly oil, gas, and mining law and issues, as well as litigation.  Applicants must be a member of the Utah State Bar in good standing and must qualify for admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. Background checks are completed as a condition of employment. Travel may be required as incumbents will need to represent the Division in legal proceedings throughout the State.
