POSITION OVERVIEW

Judge Anderson is accepting applications to fill one, two-year term law clerk position starting approximately December 2021.

DUTIES

Conducts legal research and analysis on issues and develops recommendations for the Judge. Reviews motions on the calendar and pretrial motions, and prepares memoranda and summaries. Maintains notes during motion calendars and evidentiary hearings. Drafts orders, judgments, memoranda or opinions for the Judge’s review.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES

To qualify for the position of Term Law Clerk, prior to the term state date the applicant must be a law school graduate (or be certified as having completed all law school studies and requirements and is merely awaiting conferment of degree).

Applicants must have two full years of law school grades and have strong research and writing skills. Experience on the editorial board of a law review and/or standing within the upper third of law school class is preferred.

Applications with law school coursework in bankruptcy, prior experience in the bankruptcy field, or a demonstrated interest in bankruptcy law or comparable areas are preferred. Applicants must be highly skilled in legal research and writing and able to quickly process and recommend resolution to complex issues. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, maturity, judgment, and discretion are required.
