Utah Attorney General's Office - Section Director – White Collar and Commercial Enforcement
The Office of the Utah Attorney General, White Collar and Commercial Enforcement Division, has an immediate opening for an attorney to act as Section Director. A minimum of ten years of litigation experience is required. The White Collar and Commercial Enforcement Division represents the Utah Department of Commerce and its Divisions; the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, the Division of Real Estate, the Division of Securities, and the Division of Consumer Protection. Each of these Divisions enforces a number of state statutes. The successful applicant will work closely with other Division attorneys in these enforcement efforts, including in administrative proceedings and in civil matters in state and federal court. The successful applicant will also work closely with regulators from other states and the federal government in coordinated enforcement efforts, as well as provide legal advice to the Department of Commerce and its Divisions. As a Section Director, the incumbent in this position will have responsibility for training and evaluating attorneys and staff within the White Collar and Commercial Enforcement Division. Applicants must possess excellent written and oral advocacy skills and have the experience and ability to immediately take over an existing caseload. First chair litigation experience is essential. Membership in the Utah State Bar in good standing is required. The position is located in Salt Lake City. Travel is required as incumbents will need to engage in litigation and other legal proceedings throughout the State.
