Utah Attorney General's Office – Assistant Attorney General – Tax
The Utah Attorney General’s Office has two immediate openings for a Grade II and a Grade III attorney to represent the Utah State Tax Commission. The Grade III attorney will have at least 5 years of experience, but no more than 8 years due to funding restrictions. The Grade II attorney will have at least 2 years of experience, but no more than 5 years due to funding restrictions. Both positions may be underfilled as necessary. These positions entail a broad range of tax related assignments and other duties as assigned. The successful candidates will provide all types of legal services, including appearances in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. Successful candidates must have the experience and ability to immediately assist clients. Applicants must possess excellent written, oral advocacy, and inter-personal skills. A background in bankruptcy, state taxation, finance, accounting, or economics is helpful but not required. Membership or the ability to become licensed immediately with the Utah State Bar is required. Applicants must be in good standing with any state bar in which they are licensed.
